This section covers everything you need to know about shopping with us.
The privacy and security of your personal information is our priority. PureYou Handmade is committed to protecting your privacy and will never disclose your personal details to anybody. We use the information you provide to complete orders, keep you informed of the progress of your order & to send you further information. If you register your e-mail with us for our newsletter or for new product updates, your e-mail address will never be passed on to third parties.
We want you to get your Handmade Happy Mail fast and try to ship every package as quickly as possible but offer no guarantees. Our typical processing time is 2-4 business days during regular volume periods, and 5-7 days during periods of high volume such as sales or holidays. You will receive an email once your order has shipped.
Once your package has left our facility and you have received your tracking number, we no longer hold responsibility for that package. Any shipping questions regarding updates, delays etc. can be addressed directly with the carrier you have chosen. We do not have additional information beyond what is provided through your tracking number.
Products are shipped from Canada. We ship Worldwide, depending on shipping option chosen packages may not be able to track after leaving Canada. Customer is responsible for any duty or custom fees on international shipment if charged.
Some items are very fragile. We package our items well for the shipping process to prevent damage. Soaps may sweat in warm temperatures. So, they may come to you moist. Body butters may even be melted. Even though we try our best to get your items to you safely, please know that we have no control over how the carriers will handle your items during transit.
Putting products in the freezer for a few minutes will harden them back up again!
Please let us know if your body butters have melted beyond saving. We realize that the postal service could delay some deliveries due to weather, holidays, or other issues beyond our control or damage our items. We will always work diligently to ensure that you receive your products using best methods.
Due to the nature of our handmade natural products, we cannot assure the purity of our merchandise once it has been shipped. For safety and hygienic reasons, we cannot restock or resell the same merchandise, so we do not accept returns, please read ingredients carefully, know your allergies, and test products on a small patch of skin before applying to the face.
We only process returns for incorrect orders and spilled product. All costs will be covered by us. Unfortunately, we cannot exchange products simply because a customer does not like the scent. We do not offer refunds or replacements for stolen packages so please ensure your package is delivered to a safe location.
CUSTOMER FEEDBACK is provided voluntarily, and as such it is based on individual perception & expectations from a particular product.
Natural skin care products are not a medication, and we can only make recommendation for suitability of our products in certain skin ailments & conditions. Any recommendations accepted by a purchaser are accepted entirely at the purchaser’s risk.
Can I change my shipping method after I place an order?
No. If there are errors in your order send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will cancel it.
If my butter melts can I still use it? Should I throw it away? Is it spoiled?
Our whipped butter is absolutely still usable, fragrant and effective even when melted. It won’t go back to a whipped texture (unless you whip it yourself with a hand mixer) but it will still be spreadable with the texture of a soft cream. If your butter arrives melted just put it in the fridge and let it harden, take it out and let it come up to room temperature.
My butter melted and now it’s low down in the container. Did I receive less product?
No. We whip a lot of air into our butters so when they melt the volume goes down because the air bubbles escape. But the weight of the product is the same and it will last the same amount of time.
My butter is frothy at the top, but it’s not low down in the container. Is something wrong with it?
Nope! It got a little warm in transit but if it’s still high up then that means the air we whipped into it is still there. So you’re good to go!
My container is cracked/damaged and my product spilled. What do I do?
Send photos of the damage to email@example.com and we will process a refund or replacement.
My butter melted even though it was insulated shipping. What do I do?
It is very rare that this happens but unfortunately it does happen a few times throughout the summer. Send photos to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may return the butter for a full refund or replacement, or keep it and receive a partial refund.
What is the product shelf life?
Which butter is good for stretch marks?
Each butter contains ingredients that reduce scarring and blemishing in skin so they’re all good for that.
Which butter is good for eczema?
All our butters are formulated to smooth, soften and reduce inflammation in skin so they’re all good for that.
Can I use the butters in my hair?
Absolutely. Most of our customers do. The most popular uses include: locking in moisture after a wash/condition, gently defining curls, smoothing and softening hair before styling and providing definition in braids, twists, braid outs and twist outs.
I am burning my candle there is no scent
We know how frustrating it can be to have a product fall short of expectation, and we strive to always exceed expectations by creating high-quality products which have been thoroughly tested! But, we are up against a lot of factors when it comes to striking a balance between adequately scenting a space without overwhelming or causing discomfort.
Our abilities to perceive fragrance, and the physiological reactions we may have to fragrance, vary widely and are different for each individual. In fact, most of us are anosmic to some degree to specific fragrance materials meaning that we lack the ability to perceive them. On the flipside, some of us are highly sensitive to fragrance and can detect it in even the smallest of quantities. That means for us that we cannot create a one-size-fits-all product, so instead we are on the side of mild fragrance to give you the option to layer and build fragrance to your personal preference.
You may also start to experience olfactory fatigue, or odor fatigue – the temporary inability to distinguish a particular scent after prolonged exposure to that airborne compound. This is totally normal, and often happens when you use the same fragrance for a long period of time. We suggest keeping a stash of 2 or 3 scents you love and regularly rotating them when you notice the strength fading.
The size of your space is also important. Larger rooms or those with high ceilings or large openings into other rooms may require a few products to sustain the fragrance in the space. Try burning multiple candles at a time or combining different product types to build the fragrance to your desired level.
